Talks of the Town: Halls continues the conversation which started in The Source Arts Centre, Thurles last February as part of the national tour of the exhibition The Reason of Towns which celebrates the work of architect Valerie Mulvin.
The discussion at Uillinn will consider the unique and varied roles of the Art Centre in Irish towns; the importance of public buildings today and questions relating to the design and design legacy of public spaces and buildings.
The panel comprises Valerie Mulvin (Architect/Director McCullough Mulvin Architects), Mary McCarthy (Director, Crawford Art Gallery), Tara Kennedy (Architect, Work Shop Bantry) and Ann Davoren, (Director, Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre) and is chaired by Felix Hunter Green, Irish Architecture Foundation Exhibitions and Publication Manager.
This is the closing event for The Reason of Towns at Uillinn and its national tour. The exhibition will remain open in the James O’Driscoll Gallery, ground floor, Uillinn until 5.15pm.
