Layers of Story – Secondary School Exhibition, inspired by Penti Menti by visual artist Sarah Dwyer.

The exhibition showcases the creative responses of students, from Skibbereen Community School who took part in Layers of Story, a secondary Schools Programme at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre.

Working with visual artist Sylwia Migdal, the students explored Sarah Dwyer’s artwork through looking and making. They experimented with mark -making, colour, and abstract forms, sharing their ideas and creating artworks that reflect on memory, emotion, and transformation.

This showcase celebrates the students’ imagination and voices, demonstrating how abstract art can be used to express feelings, ideas, and personal experiences.

Stories of the Screen – Darrara National School Exhibition, inspired by Night Study by visual artist Glenn Loughran.

This creative project encouraged children to reimagine everyday screen – TVs, phones, tablets  – not as distraction, but as tools for imagination, storytelling, and connection. Through sculpture, installation and digital media, pupils explored how screen, light, and story can inspire new way of seeing the work.
