Draw Mind Matters Workshop with Mich Maguire
Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 July, from 2.00pm to 4.30pm each day
For ages 12-18
Fee 10 euro
Inspired by Tomasz Madajczak’s Draw Mind Matters concept, this 2 day drawing workshop for young people brings together elements of performance and collaboration using various media. Facilitated by Mich Maguire, it’s open to all levels of experience.
Mich Maguire is an emerging artist from Skibbereen, West Cork. They took part in the DMM workshop at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre for three years before going on to study Fine Art at Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork. Now having completed their second year, Mich has exhibited and performed work at Uillinn, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, and The People’s Museum in Limerick. Working primarily with photography, video and performance, Mich weaves drawing and writing into their practice to create deeply personal and expressive work. For Mich, making art is a way to communicate thoughts and emotions that can be difficult to express in words. Looking ahead, they hope to pursue a Master’s in Art Therapy, with the aim of supporting young people who face similar challenges in finding their own voice.
