The Accidental Editor
Artist in Residence Mich Maroney Talk and Studio Visit

THE ACCIDENTAL EDITOR

Join visual artist, writer and SWERVE editor Mich Maroney as she marks the end of her residency at UILLINN: West Cork Arts Centre on 12 September at 1:30 pm

Mich will share her recent work, including Tattered Shreds of Light—drawings exploring colour, chance, order and the unexpected effects of water—as well as new work created from discarded packaging from the Palestine Postcard Project.

At the heart of the event is Mich’s unlikely journey from visual artist to magazine editor. How did a literary journal that began on a kitchen table in West Cork make it onto the London Review Bookshop’s Top Ten Bestsellers list?

Come along for an informal and engaging conversation about art, publishing, experimentation and the happy accidents that can lead somewhere unexpected.

Celebrate the end of Mich’s residency and discover what happens when an artist accidentally becomes an editor.

Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre acknowledges the financial support of The Arts Council  / An Chomhairle Ealaíon in making these residencies possible.
