An interdisciplinary solo work fusing dance, text, theatre and film. Centred on the quest for true love, purely to discover how it feels to have your heart utterly broken. Saturated with drama, campiness, comedy and chaos, it delves into the romantic storylines and tropes that we long for in film and books and how they mould the connections we strive for as we grow up.

About the Artist/ Company
Nóra Ní Anluain Fay is a performer, choreographer and the director of NAF Dance. She graduated from Fontys University, NL, in dance and choreography after training with Dublin Youth Dance Company and The Gaiety School of Acting. Having this continuous mix of dance and theatre informed the work she feels compelled to make. Her work bridges dance and theatre, fusing music, text and film. There is no hierarchy between the mediums resulting in theatrical explosions that highlight the magic in the mundane and marry tragedy and humour.
Her first piece, ‘Let Them Eat Cake,’ was selected to represent the Netherlands in Szoloduo Festival 2022, Budapest. Cementing the tone and movement language of the work she makes and produces through NAF Dance.
Her latest ‘Ham Sandwiches and Discipline,’ in association with The Mermaid Arts Centre, toured through 2024 to Ireland and abroad. A camp, comedic duet about the GAA, which she performed, choreographed and produced. It was nominated for the Radical Spirit Award, Best Performer and The George Fitzmaurice Award at the Dublin Fringe Awards which all champion bold, new contemporary work. It will travel to festivals through the summer and take on a national tour in autumn 2025. It’ll also be made into a film thanks to a DLR and Creative Ireland Award.
She is currently in the early stages of development of her next piece ‘Please Break my Heart,’ which was featured at Scene and Heard 2025 and is supported by Uillinn Arts Centre, mermaid Arts Centre, St John’s Theatre Listowel, Shawbrook Dance and the Irish Arts Centre New York.
