Awards
In the year that we celebrate 40 years of West Cork Arts Centre and 10 years at Uillinn, we are delighted to work with our partners to celebrate our 41st Members and Friends exhibition by presenting a number of prizes and awards for 2025. The prize winners will be selected by jury comprising representatives of Uillinn, The Blue House Gallery, Cnoc Buí and Working Artists’ Studios.
The Morgan O’Driscoll Fine Art Auctioneers’ Award
€2,000 cash prize will be awarded to an artist for a work of distinction.
The Cnoc Buí Exhibition Award
This award will offer the winning artist/s a peak-time exhibition opportunity at Cnoc Buí, Union Hall in summer 2026 (16 to 26 July).
Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre Studio Award
The winner of this award will be offered a 4 week residency at Uillinn in 2026. This award has a non-cash equivalent value of €2,400 and comes with a cash stipend of €500.
Please check the box on the label that you will securely attach to the back/underside of your work, if you are interested in being considered for this award.
Beara Drop Point
We are delighted that the Sarah Walker Gallery, Castletownbere will be a point for artists in the Beara region to drop off their work for inclusion in the Members and Friends exhibition at Uillinn. Work may be dropped to the gallery from Thursday 22 May to 1pm on Saturday 24 May. Call 086 8902338 or email sarahwalkergallery@gmail.com to check opening times.
Size
Because we receive many more 2D artworks than 3D artworks, and to accommodate all the work in our galleries, we ask that 2D artworks do not exceed 100cms in any dimension including frame.
Courtyard
We will be able to accommodate a number of works in the Courtyard this year. Artists may consider submitting outdoor sculpture.
Theme
The theme for the 2025 Members and Friends exhibition is Uillinn / Angle, inviting artists to explore the many interpretations of angles—both literal and conceptual, encouraging a playful engagement with perspectives, viewpoints and layers, asking how different angles shape the way we see, understand, and interact with the world around us.
