Bealtaine Studio Residency at Uillinn

Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre in partnership with Age and Opportunity/BEALTAINE and Cork County Council are delighted to announce that Helen Comerford is this year's Bealtaine Artist in Residence at Uillinn.
During her three week studio residency at Uillinn in Skibbereen, County Cork, visual artist Helen Comerford will conduct an investigation of place through photography, drawing and encaustic painting. She will also host two open studio events which will include a demonstration of encaustic painting processes as part of the national Bealtaine programme ofHospitable Actions at 12 noon on Saturday 4 May, 2019.
Helen has been included in many important solo and group exhibitions from 1977. She has exhibited extensively across Ireland including: Garter Lane Arts Centre, Waterford; Sculpture atKells; RHA, Dublin; Anya von Gosseln Gallery, Wexford; Taylor Galleries, Dublin; EVA, Limerick; Butler Gallery, Kilkenny; Sligo Art Gallery; Model Arts Centre, Sligo; Crawford Art Gallery,Cork; Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin; The Hugh Lane Municipal Gallery, Dublin; Project Arts Centre, Dublin. She was selected by Lucy Lippard to be included in “Divisions, Crossroads,Turns of Mind” a touring show of the USA in 1985. Her work can be found in many collections including IMMA, National Art Collection OPW, Galway City Gallery, Hugh Lane MunicipalGallery, The Arts Council and Trinity College Dublin.
