14 to 25 June 2021
In collaboration with West Cork Chamber Music Festival, and as part of Luke Murphy Dance Artist in Residence, Uillinn commissioned Kevin Coquelard to explore the relationship between music and dance. Kevin chose to work with musicians, Kate Ellis and Caihim Gilmore and in this conversation with Luke, Kevin unpicks the process that took place and explores future possibilities.
'With the help of two musicians, Kate Ellis and Caihim Gilmore, I explored the relation between movement and sound. Which I think is even more interconnected through music and dance that we think (the inner music that the dancer follow to create movement or the movement musician makes to create music.)'
