This residency will explore the contrast between the landscape as a natural phenomenon and a cultural creation. In particular, this investigation will look at the boundaries, borders and walls that create landscapes. Studio visitors are very welcome to contribute to the discussion of the question of borders as not only physical, but cultural and psychological constructs. During this two-month residency, explorations will take the form of drawing and painting as they are mediums deeply connected with the landscape construct. However, explorations may also take the form of other image-making techniques such as collage and mixed-media as methods of construction. This residency will support a community involvement bringing the artist’s practice in a new direction.
