School Tours and Workshops for both Primary and Second Level Schools

At Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre, students unlock creativity and teachers spark imagination. Together, we explore big ideas, fresh thinking, and cultural meaning.

We welcome schools to visit our exhibitions at any time during opening hours. Guided tours of the exhibitions, tailored to your needs can also be arranged with advance booking. There is a €3 charge per student if you wish to include a practical workshop activity. To book a tour or workshop email learning@westcorkartscentre.com

Primary School Classroom-based Projects

Each year, in partnership with the West Cork Education Centre, we invite schools to participate in Classroom-based Projects which include gallery visits, workshops at Uillinn, school-based workshops facilitated by our Public Engagement artist, online interactions and pupils’ art packs. We orient programmes around our exhibition and residency programmes linking them with the pupil’s own interests and the Primary School curriculum. Projects often result in an exhibition or display of the childres’s work in Uillinn.

We partner with West Cork Education Centre to inform schools on opportunities with us. To keep up to date, you can also email learning@westcorkartscentre.com to be placed on a mailing list and stay informed of opportunities.

Second Level Projects and Leaving Cert supports

Gallery tours are available to Second Level groups throughout the year, facilitating students, especially those at Leaving Certificate level, to explore questions related to current art practices, gallery curation and support for the arts in Ireland. Students at all levels can benefit from exposure to contemporary art practice to broaden their understanding of what art can be, to inspire their own creativity, and to develop their own visual or written response to the exhibitions.

Depending on the exhibition, links to other subjects such as SPHE, geography, history or languages will be of interest for specific class groups.
