Nóra Ní Anluain Fay will be on residency at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre from 8 to 12 September, 2025
Nora will host two workshops welcoming people to join in her creative research. These movement and discussion workshops will be exploring the themes of love and relationship tropes towards the creation of a new work Please Break my Heart, – an interdisciplinary solo piece, fusing dance, text, theatre and film. This love story focuses on the quest for true love purely for the sake of wanting to discover how it feels to have your heart truly and utterly broken.
Based on the fact that all the classic films, books, plays and songs are all about love and heartbreak – trying to actively get my heart broken in order to have content for a piece. After all, aren’t all the best works of art centred around love and heartbreak? Saturated with drama, comedy and chaos, giddily marching towards a broken heart to understand what is this endless pit of inspiration for makers called heartbreak?
Sessions will take place on Tuesday 9 September from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm and Thursday 11 September from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
The two part workshops will explore concept of love, romance, against societal tropes and ideals with a view to Nora incorporating the outcomes of the workshops toward her next performance, (if everyone is agreeable!)
Free places – please book – no drop ins on 02822090 or info@westcorkartscentre.com
